After experimentation and testing, IBM Santiago鈥檚 new blockchain repository will be launched in May.
The blockchain lending repository has been built with hyperledger fabric as a blockchain base layer.
The launch aims to create better solutions for a decentralised financial market in Chile, with its next challenge being blockchain as a service for the local capital market.
Pr茅stamo de Valores, an IBM spokesperson, said: 鈥淓normous progress has been made over the past year on this pilot project. We have learnt several lessons from this process and built a solid internal development team.鈥�
He added: 鈥淲e were able to design and implement a distributed model for operating the short sales security lending and other related lending operations, where other participants of the consortium can contribute with their own infrastructure to join this business network, so they can seamlessly integrate their own business processes.鈥�
鈥淲e are promoting a technological consortium for the development of a blockchain network, which allows the creation of a 鈥榤arketplace for the development of a decentralised applications鈥� ecosystem.鈥�
