Standard Chartered has confirmed the appointment of Mark Snowdon as head of insurance relationship management, financing and securities securities for Asia.

SFT understands that Snowdon has relocated from Singapore to Hong Kong to take up this role.

In this newly-created position, he is responsible for managing and building Standard Chartered鈥檚 financing and securities services business for insurance clients across Asia, embracing custody, fund services, agency securities lending and prime services.

He reports to Simon Kellaway, Standard Chartered鈥檚 regional head of financing and securities services for Greater China and North Asia.

Snowdon has recently left Northern Trust, where he was head of capital markets for the Asia-Pacific region.

Previously, he has had roles at JP Morgan, as head of global custody growth, and The Bank of New York, as head of investor services sales for Europe.

Commenting on Snowdon鈥檚 appointment, Simon Kellaway says: 鈥淪tandard Chartered is dedicated to providing the best-in-class client servicing and innovative products for our clients. Mark has a deep wealth of knowledge of the securities services and custody markets and an extensive network in the industry across the region.

鈥淗e will be instrumental in enhancing our already very strong relationship with our clients and meeting the evolving needs in this fast-changing environment,鈥 adds Kellaway.
