Women in Securities 麻豆影视传媒 (WISF) have rung the Toronto Stock Exchange opening bell, one of many events celebrating the organisation鈥檚 five-year anniversary.

Later this month, on 20 December, the WISF members from New York, Boston, Chicago, Toronto, and London, are also set to ring the New York Stock Exchange closing bell in a final celebration of the group鈥檚 milestone anniversary.

Creating a community to foster connections and promote the advancement of women in the securities finance industry, the WISF group has made its mark in the industry since its emergence in 2018.

In October, the group鈥檚 London Chapter gathered to commemorate the five-year milestone during a Market Open Ceremony hosted by the London Stock Exchange Group.

The event saw the group鈥檚 London Chapter gather at Paternoster Square in London with its co-leaders Harpreet Bains, global head of product for agency securities lending at J.P. Morgan, and Ina Budh-Raja, EMEA head of product and strategy securities finance and markets ESG at BNY Mellon.

Roanna Kim, director in equity finance with RBC Capital Markets and one of the Toronto co-chairs for WISF, says: 鈥淗aving the privilege to open the TSX with my fellow WISF colleagues, friends and allies was truly an exciting moment as we mark a major five-year milestone in our group鈥檚 history.

鈥淚 am endlessly inspired by our leadership and our members. I am looking forward to further celebrating at the NYSE and our continued work in the industry in 2023.鈥

Standing with Kim was her co-lead of the WISF Toronto Chapter, Mary Jane Schussler, director of equity finance at BMO Capital Markets, who adds: 鈥淥pening the TSX was an extremely uplifting experience, with the support of the Women in Securities finance mission deeply felt.

鈥淚 am blessed to be a part of this group with such inspiring leadership and members. Watch what we do next!鈥
