It is 鈥渋ncredibly worrying鈥 that the UK Government has remained quiet about the financial services industry in relation to its Brexit strategy, according to a speaker at the International Securities Lending Association鈥檚 (ISLA) 27th Annual Securities 麻豆影视传媒 and Collateral Management Conference in Lisbon.

According to the speaker, services are where the UK is growing fastest, with financial services leading as the UK鈥檚 biggest export.

Amid this, the speaker explained that despite the UK doing better than initial forecasts after the referendum, economic growth in 2018 is expected to be the 鈥渨orst since the global financial crisis鈥, at 1.5 percent.

The speaker added that a transitional deal may not be long enough and that the UK could likely apply to rejoin the EU by 2027.
